Welcome to UR Bids.

Greg, a working contractor and the founder of UR Bids, on why he built the platform and what it does for shops like yours.

How it works

Three steps. One bid.

The walkthrough is the conversation you already have with the customer. UR Bids turns it into a priced bid before you leave the driveway. No notes to type up, no field photos to organize, no estimate to build from scratch.

01
Walk
Open UR Bids on your phone.

Hit the record button. Walk the job and talk through the scope like you would with the customer anyway. Mid-walk scope changes get captured. Client concerns get captured. Your commitments get captured — all verbatim.

02
Talk
Stop recording when you're done.

UR Bids reviews the conversation, identifies every scope item, and prices each line at current Denver-metro rates. 16 line items in a basement finish, 30+ on a kitchen — itemized with materials, labor, and sub costs split out.

03
Bid
Review and send.

Recommended bid total at the top, scope of work, allowances flagged for client-selected finishes, contractor commitments preserved. Adjust the margin if needed, save as PDF, send. Convert to a Project once approved.

01 · Why we built this

Built by a contractor, for contractors.

Greg Gardner

Founder · Owner, Triory Construction

I spent twenty years in the trades before I built UR Bids. I ran crews at Triory Construction. The last three bids I did before I built this, I hated every minute of it — writing up estimates from field notes and photos, trying to remember what I told the client, missing scope changes she made halfway through the walk because I was scribbling on a clipboard.

The software built for general contractors didn't work for us. It was built for GCs who manage subs, not for subs doing the work. And nothing on the market captured the bid where it actually gets made — out on site, in the conversation with the customer.

“I wanted a tool that turned a site walk into a priced bid before I left the driveway. So I built it.”

UR Bids is that tool. Walk · Talk · Bid is the entry point. The pricing engine is trained on real Denver-metro contractor bids — not scraped data, not generic construction averages. Bid totals come within ±5% of what a senior estimator would write, on the first pass.

Once the bid is drafted, the rest of the platform takes it from there: editable estimate, contract terms baked in, one-click conversion to a project, change orders that update materials and subs automatically, invoice marked paid. End to end. If you're a specialty sub trying to grow, this was built for you. We know because we built the first version for ourselves.

Project Conversion
One click and it's a project.

When the bid is approved, convert the Estimate to a Project in one click. Schedule, daily logs, time entries, material orders, and crew assignments — all wired up from the same scope items captured during the walkthrough. No re-keying.

Change Orders
Scope shifts, recording stays.

The original audio + transcript stays linked to the project. When a homeowner disputes scope six months in, replay the conversation and play back their own voice agreeing to the work. Change orders auto-draft from new scope, update materials and subs, flag permit and compliance impact.

I built Walk · Talk · Bid for my own crew first. Last year I'd come back from a site walk with notes on a clipboard, photos on my phone, and a half-formed bid in my head — then spend the next three nights typing it up while a faster sub already sat in front of the client. Now I record the walkthrough, drive home, and the priced bid is waiting in UR Bids before I'm off the freeway. Pricing comes within five percent of what I would've quoted manually. This is the tool I wished I had for fifteen years.
